The Role 

You are a last year student at the University or 1st year Master student and have basic knowledge of OOP principles and Java, additionally you may have had AI/ML related projects. 

Become part of this success story by applying to our SUMMER PRACTICE Program until the 30 of May 2025.

This year we will continue the implementation of our summer practice project on which, you as a last year student can learn and develop your skills for 6 hours per day starting the 30th of June until 22nd August (2 months).

All the summer practice will be done on-site (in Timisoara and Sibiu).

Step Length Estimation for Closed Doors Navigation

Mobile outdoor GPS navigation apps have proven to be lifesavers for visually impaired people. With a smartphone in hand, the way to a destination can be easily found, even in an unknown place. However, it is still easy to get lost indoors, where GPS satellite signals cannot be accurately tracked by navigation apps. Here begin our challenges. We want to improve the application and plan 3 teams to work in parallel on algorithms for the step detection mechanism using 3 different AI/ML approaches (2 teams in Sibiu, 1 team in Timisoara), then we will analyze the obtained results.
